Aphid Wasp - female

Aphid Wasp - Female
Seattle, King County, Washington, USA
May 1, 2007
Size: 3mm
I watched this little wasp slowly closing on this aphid and that aphid, but she never actually "injected" an aphid while I was standing there. All of the aphids were waving their abdomens in the air and flicking their hind legs on their "tube thingies" (Sorry!) which were exuding drops of something. I just didn't have the patience to stay for an actual penetration...

Both by Peter Bryant who, unlike us, does take prisoners.
