Brown jumping spider - Pelegrina aeneola

Brown jumping spider - Pelegrina aeneola
Richmond, British Columbia, Canada
May 17, 2015
Size: 5 mm
I looked through just about every species on Bugguide, but could find none that matched the abdomen's dotted pattern. Perhaps this is a juvenile with different markings.

I'm leaning towards the militaris, as the dot pattern is more similar. I have other photos, if a different angle would be more helpful for an ID.

Those both have light colored scales
on the side of the carapace and lack the leg annulation of yours. Yours is an adult male and and not a species I'm familiar with but maybe a Pelegrina. Similar to P. aeneola perhaps but that's a guess. Always best to post a straight on dorsal shot as the first image if available. Also usually better to comment on the first image as it's more likely to be seen there.

Thanks for the tips. I've ad
Thanks for the tips. I've added the closest thing to a dorsal shot (I'll know better next time). Also you've introduced me to some terminology that even a google search can't help me with (leg annulation? And I figure that scales refers to the hairs?)

Annulation = rings
Reffering to the striping on the legs. Scales are somewhat like hairs but they lay flat on the surface like they would on a butterfly.
