I used a hand held microscope to look at a bright green pupae that was laying on the algae on my pond and dozens of these tiny insects became visible. I can't find anything that describes naturally blue insects. They are quite numerous in the algae. Thoughts? I tried to find info on those tiny surface bugs that are on lakes, that move together like a school of fish, but I am coming up empty searching for them. Could this be the larval stage of them?
