4-spotted Checkered Beetle - Pelonides quadrinotata - Female

Size: 3/16"
Is this a type of Scarab beetle ? Although small and brightly colored, it seems to have the same type head, antennae, and wings as typical Scarabs. Please help with ID.

I thought I'd add this info that the move is based upon for posterity's sake. Do you know when the revision has been/will be published?

"Weston Opitz (pers.comm. to =v=), who has just revised the genus (in press), says that individuals with any kind of red marking on the forebody (head+prothorax) are P. quadrinotata (which sometimes has no spots at all), while in P. quadripunctata the forebody is entirely black"

This is a Pelonides quadripunctatus. Can't miss those antennae. You can see some other good images with some info here.
