Lesser Peachtree Borer - Hodges#2550 - Synanthedon pictipes

Lesser Peachtree Borer - Hodges#2550 - Synanthedon pictipes
Wildwood Park; Radford, Virginia, USA
May 19, 2015
This critter had the look of a wasp, but the lovely wings reminded me of a clearwing moth. It was on Physocarpus opulifolius.
I'd like an Id, please.

Moved from Clearwing Moths.

It's not the best shot, but... would be our first for VA. Is the sighting date correct?

it is now! Thanks, Ken!
I was shooting toward the setting sun and was disappointed that details did not show up, and that the image was not sharper. However, I was pleased to at least get a shot that you experts at B G could sort of recognize:)

Moth ID
Most likely Synanthedon pictipes (lesser peachtree borer).

Moved from ID Request.
