Treehoppers - Entylia carinata

Treehoppers - Entylia carinata
Duluth, Gwinnett County, Georgia, USA
September 10, 2004
I'm basing the genus on other images in the guide. I had asked Dr. Andy Hamilton about distinguishing the species of this genus and he noted it was based on the height of the crest which can't be determined in this view.

I submitted this photo because I think it has value in other ways. It shows both the adults and immatures together. Color differences are apparent in the adults and I believe the treehoppers have an association with the ant shown (honeydew for protection?).
