Tiny "ants" do not sting, on base/trunk/root of crepe mrytle's
Denton, Denton County, Texas, USA
May 27, 2015
Size: pin head size
Tiny 'ants' on base of crepe myrtle's. CM are not next to one another- over span of 1 acre. Two of CM have slumped over from the heavy rain and our soil is saturated. These little guys are at the base of half of my crepes. I dug some around the soil and they are throughout. I do not know what type of ant it is, or if similar to ants. They do not bite/pinch. They are semi-transulent. Red-orange with a yellow dot on the top abdomen.
