Conura - Chalcis Conura - Chalcis

Chalcis sp., female
Moved from Conura. ID'd from specimen, now a photo-voucher. Thanks Lisa!

Species of Chalcis are parasitoids of soldier fly (Stratiomyiidae) larvae, which is why you found this on a creek bank.

It differs from Conura in some minute details, including a tiny or absent mesotibial spur, densely setose mesocoxae, and a more protruded ovipositor.

Wow
Thanks Brad!
