Haven't been watching bees as closely as I would like for a season and a half so feeling very rusty. This just doesn't quite look like any of the species I see most frequently around here or maybe I am rusty.

On Phacelia spp.

I also think it may be same species as http://bugguide.net/node/view/1075948/bgimage which I also just posted.

Thanks, I have seen and had verified sitkensis here. It'd be cool and not surprising to see flavifrons. I guess I need to try for some more photos. This bee was visiting the phacelia and penstemons and I watched it for some time and tried to get photos. But as per my usual not so good.
