Very dark honey bee? - Apis mellifera - female

Very dark honey bee? - Apis mellifera - Female
Midland, Midland County, Texas, USA
May 31, 2015
I have a lot of bees in the yard and on rare occasion I get one of these much darker bees that shows up. They have much less body hair and seem to move much faster than the lighter bees I see hundreds of. This dark version is quite rare in the yard. Is possibly just an age thing. I noticed the wing edges are quite worn.
