Eumenes crucifera
The genus Eumenes are potter wasps within the wasp subfamily Eumeninae. Eumenes crucifera make mud pots that look like this. Often wear and tear damages the nice looking outer rim. They lay eggs in them and provision the young (maggot-like) with paralyzed insects. Evidently while you had the mud nest in the jar, young that had formed pupae emerged as adults.
Nice work.
I hope you don't mind if I sharpen up and resubmit your image of course retaining you as the copyright owner?

Thanks for your help with ID and yes, I appreciate your improvement on my image. Used my tablet for photo, not experienced in taking pictures of insects. Hope to improve:)
