Eumenes crucifera
The genus
Eumenes
are potter wasps within the wasp subfamily Eumeninae.
Eumenes crucifera
make mud pots that look
like this
. Often wear and tear damages the nice looking outer rim. They lay eggs in them and provision the young (maggot-like) with paralyzed insects. Evidently while you had the mud nest in the jar, young that had formed pupae emerged as adults.
Nice work.
I hope you don't mind if I sharpen up and resubmit your image of course retaining you as the copyright owner?

potter wasp
Thanks for your help with ID and yes, I appreciate your improvement on my image. Used my tablet for photo, not experienced in taking pictures of insects. Hope to improve:)
