A discussion of this fly and
A discussion of this fly and other Bombylus flies HERE indicated that it could be B. mexicanus.
Danny O'Shea says "While a tad 'fuzzy' - the wing pattern looks on and the white stripe clearly points to a female B. mexicanus. If you check with" the Bombylus key "there is little other choice but that."
Tony Thomas has two specimens in his collection, "labeled as B. mexicanus; 30 May 1978 Sunbury Co.; 22 June 1980 Northumberland Co."
