Arachnid/Odonata 1 - Metepeira

Arachnid/Odonata 1 - Metepeira
Husum, Klickitat County, Washington, USA
June 5, 2015
This Arachnid (under it's web) was found on a drier edge of a wetland/prairie remnant with it's web fastened to yarrow stems. The top of the web is camouflaged with bits of a small odonata. Without magnification it appears to be tiny ants. I did not see the spider until it moved because it looked so much like the black spots of odonata. Very clever! Thanks for looking.
