Moth - Athetis tarda

Moth - Athetis tarda
Block Island, Washington County, Rhode Island, USA
June 5, 2015
At lights. Actually gray, just couldn't get the exposure right.

Moved
Moved from Noctuoidea. Look forward to hopefully replacing with a better image next year.

.
Blocky, I think this is a Litter Moth, possibly something Idia. Do you have any other shots? Or maybe you could darken it and get the lines to show up better.

I don't think this is a litter moth
It looks more Noctuid-esque to me.

.
Thanks Kyhl. At least I did not move it!

Have finished all the moves I can make in Moths as you requested through the Forum and am working on others as I feel comfortable.

Awesome!
Thanks so much!

Only 16 pages now!
Quite the difference. I guess I missed out on the reorganization while abroad the last few months. I'll look through anyway to see what I can move.

Athetis tarda?
*

That's what I would go with
.

My, how my technique has improved
I used to have so much trouble getting good pictures of small (or even medium-sized) moths on a screen. New picture still not necessarily the true color — if my old self is to be believed, this moth was more monochrome — but at least the lines are a bit easier to see now.

Moved from Moths.
