Large Ichneumon - Enicospilus SERC, Edgewater, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, USA June 6, 2015 Size: >1.5"
This large ichneumon greeted me at the door when I showed up for the SERC Bug Blitz. It was high up the glass, which made it a challenge to shoot, but it was larger then those I usually see around my own lights, and had a few features that seemed distinctive:
The antennae had an angle or joint in them, which you can see in this image.
The first segment of the abdomen was swollen at the end away from the thorax.
I browsed here but didn't see any others with those characteristics. I'm including several angles, hoping they help.
