male BIRD HOVER FLY - Eupeodes volucris - male

male BIRD HOVER FLY - Eupeodes volucris - Male
2 km S of Fairy Hill Marsh, Saskatchewan, Canada
June 9, 2015
Found on a wild rose, in native prairie, is this a male bird hover fly? thanks. Will be happy to see Saskatchewan on the data map if this is so. Dif photos show wing pattern, end, side, front views. Some of the yellow from the rose may reflect onto it, however back markings are WHITE.
