Bee Fly - Anthrax irroratus

Bee Fly - Anthrax irroratus
near Clinton, Henry County, Missouri, USA
August 5, 2013
Size: about a half of an inch
This fly landed on my friend's shirt while we were on a walk with the Missouri Native Plant Society. I am no expert but I saw another fly on this web site with a mottled wing that was called a Tiger Bee Fly. Could this one be some relation?
