Large reddish fly - Coenomyia ferruginea - Female
Reveler Conservation Area, North Stormont, Ontario, Canada

This fly looked to be about 1 inch or close to that (was unable to measure) and was found in deep shade in a hardwood woodlot. I attach two photos taken with a flash to show more detail and one without to give a truer colour. I have no idea what family this insect might be in and am hoping someone knows.
