no, gravid leaf beetle
Size and appearance point towards genus Gastrophysa (Chrysomelinae). Which plant was it on? If Polygonaceae, ID is safe, and then I´d say it´s a new species for the guide,

I was not referring to a certain species - was just a guess. If you say this can´t be anything than G.cyanea - you are the expert!
