Beetle - Cephaloon tenuicorne

Beetle - Cephaloon tenuicorne
Teslin, Yukon Territory, Canada
June 14, 2015
Size: 1.5cm
Looks like another Cephaloon and to my eye similar to the one I photographed last summer, 70km NW of this location, and was subsequently identified as bicolor.

Moved
Moved from Cephaloon bicolor. Given the relatively short final antennal segments and inland location, I'm inclined to suspect this is C. tenuicorne instead, though if you have evidence to the contrary please feel free to correct my move!

Moved tentatively
Moved from ID Request.

please elaborate on the "subsequently identified as bicolor" thing -- by whom, when, and how? it's critical to be as specific about the source of the ID as possible

By BugGuide
Photo submitted to BugGuide and there identified as bicolor. The only comment, and therefore presumably the ID, is by you.

i'm totally confused... please see the timeline
i moved both of your Cephaloon submissions (5 images total) to the bicolor species in one move only after having noticed that phrase in the Remarks here! i learned about the ID from your text and had never made an attempt to id the species before that

I have another Cephaloon submission...
...from last year (so 3 in total, 6 photos in total). That is the one I was referring to. It is http://bugguide.net/node/view/1043830

ah! i see, thanks again
that was a tentative [though sensible] placement of which i've totally forgotten; hope you did collect the last one and Dr Young sees it
