Yes this pic was taken in the morning but not very early.
The male has green eyes, the black abdomen has blue lateral stripes.

I vote for male, too
The immature males look like females before developing the complete male coloration. I have a photo of a male during the transition. See photo here. Notice the blue spots developing at the base of the abdomen, and the blue rings at each segment.

 
Oh no! We're gonna make things worse!

We're gonna stick with male --
colors lie, claspers don't. But we can wait to hear from one of the experts too. Thanks for the lovely images!

Actually, interestingly,
when we zoom in on this lovely creature, we would say it is a he! Those claspers at the end of the abdomen look like male parts to us. See what you think! We're guessing it is early in the day before he has had a chance to warm up completely??
