Is this a fly? Can it be identified from this image? Thanks for your help.

Moved
Moved from Augochlorini.

Terry, do you shoot at the county Zoo?
I was there last month and found a lot of insects to photograph. In particular, there were three neat spiders in the Australian section. Just a thought.

Hi, Ron
No, I haven't taken photos at the zoo. So far, I've been taking pictures of insects I see in my yard. I wonder if Botanica wouldn't also be a good place to go or even Great Plains Nature Center.

Great Plains Nature Center is excellent
Particularly good for dragonflies. Haven't shot at Botanica, except for the butterfly garden - good - and butterfly house - not for Bug Guide! Also, try Sedgwick Co. Park by the slough, and when sunflowers are blooming, the side of the zoo parking lot closest to the freeway.

Thanks
I would never have thought of Sedg. Co. Park or the zoo area. I appreciate the info.

You're welcome
This is what happens when a bored outsider stumbles into your territory. I love shooting in/around Wichita!

Bee.
Nice shot of one of the "sweat bees" in the tribe Augochlorini, family Halictidae. Female.

Thanks, Eric...
I appreciate your help.
