Size: 3.5 mm
Thanks to Nancy Hamlett who lured me out to Claremont to look at some burrowing bees. They turned out to be Diadasia visiting flowers of Opuntia littoralis. But there were bunches of Eriastrum sapphirinum in flower...How can one refuse so much 'eye candy' and promises of seeing their visitors.
My early guess at species was confirmed by Doug Yanega based on photos of male specimens. Will post those soon.
