mud nest? - Ancistrocerus waldenii

mud nest? - Ancistrocerus waldenii
Cross Plains, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA
June 18, 2015
Size: ~2 inches wide
This time I was able to see the wasp adding a bit of mud to this construction although I was not able to take a photo before the wasp flew away. The mud was still wet as you can tell by the color difference. The wasp did not return when I checked later. It has started constructing more mud nests in nearby grooves in the siding so I'm hoping it will be back.
