bark louse nymph? - Metylophorus novaescotiae

bark louse nymph? - Metylophorus novaescotiae
Albion, Calhoun County, Michigan, USA
June 20, 2015
On the 20th I saw what I thought was some strange beetle, but it didn't check out. Today (the 23rd) the woodshop outside north wall had several things of the same color combination and approximate size, and I looked it up as a fly, but no dice. Something about the shape of the wing made me look it up under aphids, and at the bottome of the database of aphids, there was the thing! It turned out to be a bark louse. Here is what looks like an adult. It is damaged but I wanted to ask if that is some kind of parasite attached to it. I'm almost convinced this one is the nymph of the thumbnailed one. Actually today there were also a few of these nymphs? scattered among the adults. Thanks in advance for helping me straighten this out
