Large Milkweed Bug - Oncopeltus fasciatus

Large Milkweed Bug - Oncopeltus fasciatus
Bowie, Prince George's County, Maryland, USA
September 10, 2004
This is a group that was simply "sunning." The adults are easily distinguished by size and their large black markings. These masses were in full open view, unconcerned about predators since they are defended by toxins making them noxious to birds and other animals.
