5012 – Loxostege thrallophilalis?
Matches MPG pinned example and BOLD examples under Loxostege thallophilalis (old spelling):

Where are the other ones you mention photographing? I see one here.

Loxostege thallophilalis (correction)
The correct name is thallophilalis which was a justified emendation, see Info page.

The first photo is of a specimen from the California Academy of Science. The second, sample ID CNCLEP00106710 at BOLD, is a specimen from the Canadian National Collection. Although the DNA sequence is badly degraded, it does barcode as thallophilalis. I'm fairly confident in the ID for your moth and am adding it to MPG.

ID
I think the two you show are the only ones I have on BG. Interestingly the species you show as a match is the same one I originally thought it might be, but I couldn't find much information at the time. Thanks for your work. John

Range
Check out the range map at All-Leps. The one data point shown looks under 200 miles north of your location. The photos are the same as at BOLD but at higher resolution and are pretty convincing. I'm moving these to tribe for now.
