Ponana
Please post higher resolution scans. The distinguishing features cannot be distinguished from these photos. It might be:

Ponana quadralaba= 4 black spots on anterior margin of pronotum;

Ponana punctipennis= 4 black spots on anterior margin of and many small black dots overthe rest of the pronotum;

Ponana puncticollis= 2 black spots on anterior margin of pronotum, and small black dots over the rest of the pronotum;

Ponana scarlatina= same as above, but with small red dots instead;

Ponana rubida= pronotum unmarked.

Higher Resolution
Andy, I'll see if I can upload a higher resolution. Did you click on the image already to view it at a bigger sizer? (which is 2000 pixels wide)

Larger image
Not everybody can click and see the larger images, only editors, that is why it is important to crop them tightly so everybody can see them as large as possible.

puncticollis ?
Thanks for that excellent info Andy. I can definitely use that in the future. For this nice image from Michael, I had actually tentatively decided on Ponana puncticollis, which is common in neighboring North Carolina, but in the end I wasn't comfortable with going to species level ID. What do you think of a Ponana puncticollis ID? It's always good to have the voice of an expert weigh in.

Leaf Hopper
This is a Leaf Hopper, Cicadellidae. It's probably something in the Ponana genus, but I'm not certain of species.
