Remarks
Some species, including Cricotopus tremulus, have tergites 1 and 2 yellow, strongly contrasting with remainder of abdomen, and fore tarsomere 2 white. Cricotopus varipes lacks a pale band on fore tarsi. There may be undescribed American species in this group, as in the rest of Cricotopus.
