Found under bark of downed conifer. At first I thought this was a ceryl*onid but those antennal clubs told me I was wrong.

Okay, I agree.
In fact, I don't get my initial rejection of Cerylonidae. I guess I just viewed one antennal club...

The raised lateral margin on the pronotum indicates this is Philothermus, with a solitary species in New Hampshire, Philothermus glabriculus.
