Robberfly - Proctacanthus brevipennis

Robberfly - Proctacanthus brevipennis
10 Mile Creek, Gordy Rd., St. Lucie County, Florida, USA
May 12, 2007
Size: ~20mm
Male?

Moved
Moved from Proctacanthus.

I think the red ring at the apex of the
femora and the strong black stripe down the center of the thorax makes it brevipennis.

Yes
Proctacanthus. In that hefty Florida crew of ten species. I can name ones it is not but cannot get it to the definitive end.
