Mating Leafrolling Weevils - Synolabus nigripes - male - female

Mating Leafrolling Weevils - Synolabus nigripes - Male Female
Hurricane, Putnam County, West Virginia, USA
July 6, 2015
Found these this evening in my yard, on a species of sumac. Not sure how to tell the difference between the two similar species here in your guide, hoping for some help to differentiate! Thanks!

Moved tentatively

Spines on male femur
Just leaving this comment because you mentioned the move was tentative. ID as Synolabus nigripes seems good because male Synolabus nigripes have those spines and male Homoeolabus analis do not. Also on sumac.
