I think the images are the same individual. And I think this may be Lyconotus lateralis, based on the rostrate head. I'll check our museum to see if we have specimens. I collected a couple Lyconotus lateralis specimens in Wisconsin a couple years back, but gave them to someone who was researching lycids. Your very nice images sparked a memory of those. I believe it is a relatively uncommonly encountered species. I've only encountered it the once (2 on same day at same site) and I do a lot of field work. So, great find! That is, if it is what I think it is.

 
Alas...
Someone else will have to step up to verify that this is indeed Lyconotus lateralis, seeing as we have no specimens in our museum :(
