Banded Hairstreak For Illinois In May - Satyrium calanus

Banded Hairstreak For Illinois In May - Satyrium calanus
Norris City, White County, Illinois, USA
May 14, 2007
Size: Approx. 5/8 in. long
Data posting for this species in Illinois, for the month of May.

I identified one of these a couple days ago for another user on here, but saw my very first one in person just today. And to top that off, there were two of them on the same flowers working them. The one pictured was the larger of the two. This one was approximately 5/8 inches long, but the other one was only about 1/2 inch in length. I got pictures of both specimens, but figured this one would do for the data.
