Naupactus cervinus Boheman 1840
cervinus 'deer-like' (prob. refers to the color)
Andrew Samuel Fuller (1828‒1896) gave Horn the type specimen

Range

native to S.America, adventive elsewhere, now cosmopolitan; in our area, transcontinental (OR‒MT‒ON‒MA to CA‒TX‒FL)(1)

Food

highly polyphagous, may damage many crops/ornamentals; adults feed on leaves (leaf-notching), buds, and flowers; larvae, on roots. Considered a mainly greenhouse pest.(1)
