Neoscona crucifera: I looked up the latin "crucifera" thinking crucifix was part of the name and found that the name means "cross bearer". I have several pix of this weaver and its hard to spot the cross on its back but its clearer in some of the online pixs especially if you request an image of the cross bearer. Now I'm on a quest to photograph my own "cross bearer

Adding New Image
I will add an image of what I believe is the same spider. She disappeared from umder my porch and I found her curled under the rim of a planter. I am almost certain it is the same spider.

Yes
It is an orbweaver. But without a dorsal image, this one is likely to remain unidentified beyond that.
