White-Faced Meadowhawk - Sympetrum - male

White-Faced Meadowhawk - Sympetrum - Male
Red Deer, Alberta, Canada
July 14, 2015
I went to pick some peas in my deck patch and found this lovely fellow resting on them. My camera was nowhere near me, so I snapped this with my cell phone but it seems okay. I couldn't see his face without risking him flying off, but I'm 99.9% sure he's a White-faced Meadowhawk, mature male. He's an awful long way away from water. I'd love a confirmation, and added to the collection.
Thanks :)

Female?
Are the females not usually yellow n colour? I've only seen makes identified as red.

female meadowhawk
Some females become red. Gender is best determined by looking at the appendages at the end of the abdomen.

Thanks!
I didn't know that -- thanks for the info, it's appreciated!
