Eastern toe biter, deceased, head shot front - Benacus griseus

Eastern toe biter, deceased, head shot front - Benacus griseus
Beverly Hills, Citrus County, Florida, USA
Size: 60-65 mm
Mary found this corpse outside our local supermarket several years ago and has kept it in an large, emptied parsley bottle ever since. She marked the bottle, "Nov.-Dec. 2003." We finally remembered to try for an ID. I first mis-identified this as Lethocerus americanus, then realized the eye shape and the "fur" around the eye makes this griseus. Is missing front legs and some other bits.
