I was there when someone said it had a red hind-wing, but I did not personally see it and do not know if anyone got a shot. Looks like this suggestion has a red one, but, for what it is worth - I had it identified as
Catocala clintonii
because it was so lightly marked and I did not see the "upside down comma" between the AM and PM line that I saw on the major MPG picture. Now I see there is a less boldly marked one.

Thank you, but yours has a very red hind wing. I hope someone posts a shot of the hind wing, but I seriously doubt it. We tried to coax it but it would not cooperate.
