The magnificent metallic bee. - Augochloropsis viridula

The magnificent metallic bee. - Augochloropsis viridula
Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, USA
October 4, 2006
Size: less than .5 Centimeter
I believe the common name is Sweet bee. I have seen them in different colors and sizes but no bigger than .5 Centimeter, .4 inches. This particular one was shot at 5X magnification or 5:1 life size. Some of them have more hair and some less. How would one classify these?
Thanks again,
Cyrus
