Another Mayfly - Epeorus

Another Mayfly - Epeorus
Jim Thorpe, Carbon County, Pennsylvania, USA
May 15, 2007
Size: 1/2 body approx

Moved
Moved from Epeorus vitreus.

Probably not vitreus
I would bump this one back to genus. It is Epeorus, but all of the vitreus (males and females, subimagoes and imagoes) that I have seen have a conspicuous dark cross vein (humeral vein) between the costa and subcosta near the base of the forewing. The egg-bearing female imagoes are usually a brighter pinkish-red or orange. This is probably one of the other Northeastern Epeorus species.

Nice. I believe it to be an Epeorus female imago, likely E. vitreus.
