Size: 4 inches (wingspan)
Several of these blue butterflies were resting in the gravel along the road, at some significant elevation in the Smokey Mountains.

Many butterflies like to lick
Many butterflies like to lick nutrients from the mud. It is called mud-puddling. Something like bare footin.
