dead flies on lupine

dead flies on lupine
Madison, WI, USA, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA
July 21, 2015
Size: 0.75 cm
I observed these dead flies on the dying flowering stalks of lupines. They appear to be infected with fungus. I'd appreciate any information on the id of the fly and relationship with fungus & lupine. Thanks!

Lucilia?
The greenish color suggests Lucilia. The plant is coincidental. I have seem them dead with fungus on Japanese knotweed.
