I saw it for just a moment and was looking through my 100 mm macro lens at the time. Did not think about that when I posted. Sorry for that. It looked a bit like some fruit flies I found but because of the lens I thought it was bigger.

Here's a tip!
Linda & Robert, when you are filming bugs, out in the field; try to remember to bring a small ruler or a tape measure with you. Then, when you find a creature that you want to ID, you can film the ruler all by itself, in the same field of view, after the bug flies away. That image doesn't need to go to the BugGuide, but is only for your reference. Sometimes you can even get the ruler into the view, before they notice it and they might even land on it too. Good Luck!

5mm Female!
Linda, the size info does seem wrong to me too. I think that your fly is a female Fruit Fly, Euaresta bella. Here is one from your state:

Good Luck!

10-15 mm? do they really get that huge?
size data only help if measured accurately, otherwise the field is better left blank; please keep in mind that estimates are useless for identification purposes, and more often mislead than help
