Astata Male - Astata - male

Astata Male - Astata - Male
Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon, USA
July 6, 2015
I only see male Astata wasps with this coloration and they drive each other away from the colony, but let bi-clored females in to the nests with stinkbugs. Are these the same specie? I've not seen a female unicolor here, nor a male bicolor. Which color or gender defines the specie?

You'll want to delete one or the other--and make sure the correct sighting date is shown on the one that remains (they currently have different dates).

Thanks.

Crop and date
Yes, that was a crop and I adjusted the date. I've been asked to crop closer (just the bug) and this photo was able to handle it.
