Syrphus knabi ... male
Markings broadly overlapping side margins of tergites.
Side margins of scutum more broadly yellow pruinose than other Syrphus.
Two small black dots above antennae. (This feature Vockeroth only mentioned for knabi and sonorensis, which has markings not or very narrowly overlapping side margins. Hind metatarsus orange, lighter than other tarsi on hind leg.
Long broad grayish markings on scutum.
