Nitidulid on Fishhook barrel cactus flowers (yellow) - Nitops pallipennis
El Paso, El Paso County, Texas, USA

I saw these small nitidulids flying towards the Fishhook barrel cactus, landing on the spines near the flowers and quickly moving inside the flowers. They mated inside while bees were pollinating the flowers.

In El Paso, I don't see nitidulids feeding on rotten fruit like in most places I have been. These ones seemed to love Fishhook barrel cactus flowers. Thank you for your kind help.
