The collage above consists of:
1) a rotated crop of the forewing from the 3rd image in this series in the middle of the collage;
2) the forewing venation diagram for
Dysmicohermes ingens at top of the collage; and
3) the forewing venation diagram for
Orohermes (=Dysmicohermes) crepusculus at bottom of the collage.
The two line drawing diagrams are both taken from pg. 109 of
Chandler (1954). Note the wider costal band (somewhat flaring in proximal half) in both my photo and the
O. crepusculus diagram.
The colored arrows point to agreements and discrepancies between my photo and one or the other of the two other wing diagrams. In particular, the green arrow points to what I think is either an error in the diagram for
O. crepusculus or a crossvein that can sometimes be absent...since I do not see the indicated crossvein in various images of
O. crepusculus on the web.
At any rate, note the labels in the top diagram refer to
veins rather than the
cells. Thus the
cell A1 lies
beneath (the
basal(!) portion of) vein A1, and similarly for
cell A2...as indicated in
Fig. 8.3 and
Fig. 8.4 of
Usinger (1956). The correct interpretation of cells A1 and A2 is important in interpreting the key in Usinger(1956).
