Size: 1/4 inch
Found on a leaf, when disturbed it dropped off onto the ground. Tiny at approximately 1/4 inch.

Thank you Ross, so not a beetle at all. It was so tiny I could not tell what it was. I've not seen anything like them from NW Missouri where we live. We are here at the smoky mountains on vacation.
