hexagenia? - Hexagenia - Male
Austin, Travis County, Texas, USA
May 20, 2007
Size: long. body about 1"
Based on Eric's book (Kaufman Field Guide to Insects of North America), I think this large mayfly is in the genus Hexagenia. Also seems to match those images in the guide.

Moved
Moved from Mayflies.

Yes
This is a male Hexagenia imago that has recently emerged from its subimaginal covering (the shuck or exuvia/exuvium behind it).

Thanks,
Lloyd
